Chief Justice Rice Appoints Becky Briggs to Office of Respondent Parents’ Counsel Commission

DENVER, CO, Jan. 17, 2017 – Chief Justice Rice’s order from December 14, 2016 appoints Becky Briggs of Pueblo, Colorado, and of the 3rd Congressional District, pursuant to section 13-92-103(2)(a) of the Colorado Revised Statutes, to the Office of Respondent Parent Counsel Commission through June 30, 2019 to fulfill the unexpired term of Allison Ernst.  Ernst was appointed as a District Court Judge in the 10th Judicial District.

Briggs is a solo practitioner in Pueblo, Colorado where she represents clients across Southern Colorado.  Prior to establishing her office in Pueblo, she was a Deputy Colorado Public Defender who worked in Pueblo and Grand Junction.  She then entered private practice in Southwestern Colorado.  She has represented clients facing a wide range of criminal charges.

Briggs received her law degree from Villanova University, where she was Associate Editor of Outside Articles for the Villanova Environmental Law Journal.  A proud graduate of Bryan Mawr College, Briggs received her degree in anthropology from the Seven Sisters institution.
